North Texas Giving Day 2016
On North Texas Giving Day 2015, $33 million was raised through more than 118,000 gifts benefiting 2,020 nonprofits, including White Rock Lake Conservancy. White Rock Lake Conservancy raised $21,000 on North Texas Giving Day 2015 making it our 2nd largest fundraiser of the year. We are hoping to raise even more money this year and have set a goal of $30,000. We believe that so many of you are excited about the things the Conservancy is doing to help our lake that we can easily reach this goal. All the money raised on September 22nd will go towards the remaining phases of the Stone Tables restoration and future projects at White Rock Lake.
White Rock Lake is the Conservancy is currently working with the City of Dallas Park & Recreation Department to complete the restoration of the Stone Tables. The 13 stone tables and pavilion were constructed by the City of Dallas and later assisted by members of President Roosevelt’s Civilian Conservation Corps in1932. After 80 years of use the tables are in great need of repair. We have already completed the pavilion restoration and final phases of the renovation project will include repairing the stone tables and bringing the lily pond back to its original state. With your donations on September 22nd, North Texas Giving Day, we can finalize raising the funds for the Stone Tables restoration and begin to tackle the next items on the City’s Top Ten List at White Rock Lake Park. Donate now and make a difference at your lake.
North Texas Giving Day is one of the most effective ways to donate to White Rock Lake Conservancy. Not only is it easy – only a click or two to make an impact at White Rock Lake – but your donation goes further on September 22nd then it will any other day of the year. The Communities Foundation of Texas solidifies sponsors in order to add a “bonus fund” to each $25-$50,000 donation received. In addition to the bonus funds, prizes ranging from $500-$5,000 will be given out to participating non-profits throughout the day. All of these prizes and bonus funds can really add up so please get up and give on Thursday, Sept. 22nd.
