The White Rock Lake Conservancy Inc. (WRLC) cares about the privacy of our members, online users, donors, and visitors. WRLC operates this Web site in accordance with the following privacy policy. By using WRLC's Web site or communicating with WRLC by e-mail, you consent to the terms of this privacy policy.
Data Collection
When You Register Online with WRLC
When you register with WRLC online, you will be asked to provide personally identifiable information including your name, zip code, and e-mail address. You may also provide us with your telephone number and postal address. However, this information is not required.
You may review, correct, update, or change your information, including personally identifiable information, at any time by e-mailing us at info@whiterockdallas.org or calling 214-728-7879.
Please note that it is not necessary to register or submit any personally identifiable information in order to use WRLC's Web site.
When You Make a Donation or Purchase a Membership or Event Ticket/Table
When making a donation and or purchasing a membership, you will be asked to provide personally identifiable information necessary to process and service your request. This may include your name, billing and shipping postal addresses, membership number, telephone number, e-mail address, and credit card number. Your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment.
When You Send WRLC an E-mail
WRLC is pleased to receive e-mails from you. Should you choose to send an e-mail to WRLC, your message and e-mail address will be forwarded to the appropriate department within WRLC and we will save your e-mail as part of our permanent records. Please be aware that any message, material, ideas, concepts, or other information sent to WRLC by e-mail will be treated as non-confidential and non-proprietary.
When You Sign Up for a Volunteer Activity
When you register to be a volunteer, we will request information including your name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, and photo ID.
Use of Information
Internal Use
We will use your personally identifiable information in order to respond to your request, process your contribution or fulfill your online order. Your credit card information will be temporarily stored on a secured server only for as long as necessary to process your payment.
We may use your information to inform you of events, send you WRLC newsletters, request monetary contributions and send you promotions and updates about the Park. E-mail recipients may opt out of receiving e-mails by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the e-mail message or e-mailing info@whiterockdallas.org, or calling 214-728-7879.
From time to time, WRLC will send surveys. Unless we inform you otherwise, your voluntary participation in these surveys is completely anonymous. We use the information gathered from the surveys to better understand our users, donors, members and friends and determine how best to serve them.
WRLC may combine the information you provide us online with other personally identifiable information, such as geographical information and donation history, in order to better serve our visitors.
WRLC Web site automatically collects some anonymous "non-personally identifiable" aggregate information, which may include visitor's browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer or Firefox), operating systems (e.g., Windows or Macintosh), Internet Service Providers, and other similar information. The information collected is used for statistical purposes to monitor how WRLC's online visitors navigate our site, allowing us to tailor our Web site to better accommodate our visitors.
External Use
Third Party Vendors
WRLC may engage third-party vendors in order to help us better service our visitors and customers. WRLC requires its vendors by contract to maintain the confidentiality and security of WRLC information to which they are provided access and restricts the vendors from using the information in any way not expressly authorized by WRLC.
Sharing WRLC's List of Supporters
WRLC may, on occasion, share the name and the address of inactive members and supporters with other like-minded organizations. Exchanging our list with other reputable charitable organizations is the most cost effective way to find new supporters. As part of WRLC's exchange policy, other organizations will have access to a shared list for a limited time and will not have continued access to WRLC's list unless an individual voluntarily chooses to respond to their initial mailing. If you prefer not to have your name and address shared in this way, you may request to have your information removed from a shared list at any time by contacting info@whiterockdallas.org, or calling 214-728-7879. You will also have regular opportunities to opt-out by checking the appropriate box or following the instructions located on solicitation materials.
Please note: WRLC does not rent or sell donor lists. Active members/donors are always deleted from all shared lists.

We recognize that you may wish to limit the ways in which we contact you and use your information. WRLC offers the following options:

Opt out of receiving telephone calls or postal mailings from WRLC
You may contact us at anytime by e-mailing info@whiterockdallas.org, calling 214-728-7879 and letting us know that you would not like to be contacted by telephone or mail.
Opt out of having your name and postal address shared with other organizations
You may request to have your information removed from a shared list at any time by contacting info@whiterockdallas.org, calling 214-728-7879.. You will also have regular opportunities to opt-out by checking the appropriate box or following the instructions listed on WRLC's solicitation materials.
Data Security
WRLC receives your personal and credit card information using secure socket layering (SSL) technology which prevents disclosure of your information to third parties. SSL is the standard for most browsers and servers and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name and address so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
