White Rock Lake Park is open from 6 a.m. to midnight
White Rock Lake offers several rental facilities, including the Civilian Conservation Corps-constructed Winfrey Point and Big Thicket. Organizations may also hold events, such as runs and tournaments, at the lake. There are also picnic areas available for rent. For pricing and other information, visit the Dallas Park & Recreation Department’s website, call the reservation office at 214-670-8740, or visit the Facility Reservation Office at 8100 Doran Circle at Flag Pole Hill.
There are several designated parking areas throughout the park, making just about any area of the lake accessible and within easy distance. Only park in designated parking areas, however. There are frequent patrols of the lake and improperly parked cars may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
- Visitors to White Rock Lake should use common sense while at the park. Most crime at the lake is burglary of motor vehicles, so don’t leave valuables in plain sight in your car. Better yet, leave them at home.
- Always be aware of your surroundings and carry a phone so you can call 911 if there’s an emergency. If you’re wearing headphones, keep the volume low enough to hear a bicycle or runner coming up behind you.
- No swimming is allowed in White Rock Lake.
- No alcohol is allowed on park property.
