White Rock Lake Conservancy, in partnership with the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, is completing the final phase of improvements at the beloved Stone Tables area — one of the most historic and visited landmarks in White Rock Lake Park.
Following nearly a decade of restoration, this next phase will introduce a custom-designed, inclusive playground that welcomes children of all abilities. Designed by MESA Design and Kompan Playgrounds, the new space will blend seamlessly into the natural setting while promoting exploration, connection, and community play.
The playground will feature nature-inspired climbing structures, sensory play areas, swings, shaded seating, and a looping path for safe play — providing a much-needed upgrade from outdated equipment.
This project represents the final chapter in a four-phase renovation plan that has already revitalized the pavilion, picnic tables, lily pond, restrooms, and surrounding landscape — transforming the Stone Tables into a true park within the park.

WHY IT MATTERS
White Rock Lake Conservancy is committed to protecting and enhancing one of Dallas’ most beloved outdoor destinations. By investing in inclusive spaces, we’re creating opportunities for families, volunteers, and visitors to connect, play, and enjoy nature together.
iNCLUSIVE PLAY
The new Stone Tables Playground will welcome thousands of Dallas-area families each year. With accessible and modern equipment, children of all ages and abilities will finally experience the joy of safe and inclusive play — something the current playground cannot provide.
STRONGER CONNECTIONS
The Stone Tables have long served as a gathering place for picnics, family reunions, and community events. This renovation strengthens those ties, encouraging outdoor activity, creativity, and meaningful interaction that helps build a stronger East Dallas community.
LASTING INVESTMENT
Investing in our parks is an investment in Dallas’ future. Research shows that green spaces increase property values and improve neighborhood well-being. With durable materials and a design that honors the park’s history, this new playground will stand the test of time — inspiring generations to come.

LOOKING AHEAD

Construction of the Stone Tables Playground is set to begin in 2025, with completion anticipated later that year. Once finished, this project will serve as a model for accessible park design in Dallas, showing what’s possible when the community and city work hand-in-hand.
Your support makes projects like this possible. Whether you give, volunteer, or become a member, you play a vital role in preserving the beauty and legacy of White Rock Lake Park.
